How has the coronavirus pandemic altered the role of PR in the marcomms food chain?

Sagar Sharma is the Director of Policy and Communications at Barnardo’s, the UK’s leading children’s charity. The directorate consists of an external communications team, an internal communications team, a policy team and a campaigns team.

Prior roles include Head of Strategic Communications (international), in the Prime Minister’s and Cabinet Office communications team, Head of Communications for the CJS Reform Programme at the Ministry of Justice; Head of Policy and Communications across South Asia for DFID; and Head of Strategic Communications for NATO in Afghanistan.

He worked in PR for the Ministry of Defence, Metropolitan Police and with the international agency Weber Shandwick earlier in his career.

Sagar is married to Amita; they have two young daughters – Anoushka and Neve; a cat named Tilley and Bailey, a Cavalier King Charles. He lives in Sudbury Hill, North West London.
